Parity.org (“Parity”, “we”, “us” or “our”) is committed to protecting the security and privacy of your Personal Information. This Privacy Policy (“Policy”) is intended to explain how Parity processes Personal Information and our other data protection practices when you visit our website or use our services.

This Privacy Policy applies to our website www.Parity.org and any Personal Information collected or delivered by Parity through the website or any other electronic means (the “Sites”), including the ParityINDEX® dashboard and any services provided by Parity. This Privacy Policy describes the kinds of Personal Information we may collect through the Sites, and how we use, share and protect such information.

Throughout this Privacy Policy, “us,” “our,” and “we” refer to Parity. “You” and “your” refers to any person using the Sites in an individual capacity or on behalf of any organization.

“Personal Information” as used in this Privacy Policy means information that identifies, relates to, describes, is reasonably capable of being associated with, or could reasonably be linked, directly or indirectly, with a particular consumer or household. It does not include de-identified or aggregate information, or public information lawfully available from governmental records.

Personal Information We May Collect

Parity collects Personal Information when you visit and interact with the Sites, subscribe to our newsletter, complete the ParityPledge, make a donation, or request that we contact you. Personal information collected from these sources may include your name, employer’s name, job title, email address and other contact information you choose to provide, and your gender identity. We may also collect Personal Information provided in response to our surveys and questionnaires.

When you donate to Parity using a credit card, our third-party service provider will collect and process your credit card information on our behalf. Parity does not directly collect or store your credit card or payment information.

Personal Information Collected in Connection with ParityINDEX

Parity also collects Personal Information in connection with its operation of ParityINDEX. We act as a service provider to organizations that sign up for ParityINDEX (“Index Participants”) by providing them with statistical information about their workforce and board members for use in the evaluation of hiring, retention and compensation practices. Each Index Participant provides us with limited categories of employee and board member Personal Information (“Index Participant Personal Information”) and other data that we use to generate these statistical models. Please note, in this process, we do not collect names, home addresses or contact information, or social security numbers of Index Participants’ employees or board members. We do not use, retain or disclose Index Participant Personal Information for any other purpose other than generating statistical information for Index Participants and for internal research purposes. If you are or were an employee or board member of an organization that participates in the ParityINDEX and has provided your Personal Information to us, please contact the organization directly for information about your rights with respect to your Personal Information.

How We Use Personal Information

We use Personal Information to operate the Sites, provide our services and in connection with our fundraising efforts. This includes processing donations, registering individuals and organizations as ParityPledge participants and/or sponsors, providing recipients on our email list with periodic newsletters and information about new developments related to Parity and gender parity issues. We may periodically contact you with offers, surveys, and information about our services, your registration, legal notices, or other important information.

We do not use, retain or disclose Index Participant Personal Information for any purpose other than generating statistical information for Index Participants in connection with the ParityINDEX and for internal research purposes. We also de-identify Personal Information we obtain from Index Participants for use in research studies we conduct.

How We Share Personal Information

We may disclose Personal information with selected vendors that provide us with services, including companies that provide us with IT technical support, assistance in respect of the Sites.

We may also share your Personal Information as required or permitted by law to comply with a subpoena or similar legal process or government request, or when we believe in good faith that disclosure is legally required or otherwise necessary to protect our rights and property or the rights, property or safety of others, including to advisers, law enforcement agencies, judicial and regulatory authorities. We may also transfer your Personal Information to a third party in the event of a merger, reorganization of our entity or other restructuring.

E-Mail Communications and Marketing

We will send you e-mail communications with information that may be useful to you, including information about Parity, Parity initiatives, as well as marketing, networking or educational communications. You may unsubscribe at any time by emailing us at privacy@parity.org.

If applicable law requires that we receive your consent before we send you certain types of marketing communications, we will only send you those types of communications after receiving your consent. If you have committed to the ParityPledge we may send you non-marketing related information from time to time.

Cookies

Cookies are small, sometimes encrypted text files that are stored on computer hard drives by websites that you visit. They are used to help users navigate websites efficiently as well as to provide information to the owner of the website. How We Respond to Do Not Track Signals

We do not engage in the collection of personally identifiable information about your online activities over time and across third-party websites or online services, nor do we allow other parties to do so. We do not respond to browser “do not track” instructions.

Revisions to Our Privacy Policy

We evaluate our privacy policies and procedures to implement improvements and refinements from time to time. If we make any material changes to this Privacy Policy we will notify you by means of a prominent notice on the Parity.com website prior to the change becoming effective. We will also post an updated version on our website. Please check back periodically for updates.

Information Security

We use reasonable administrative, physical and technical safeguards to protect Personal Information against accidental or unlawful destruction, loss or alteration and against unauthorized disclosure or access. While these methods are considered to be effective, we do not guarantee the protection of your Personal Information as no data transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed to be completely confidential or 100% secure. You use our Sites and provide all Personal Information to us at your own risk.

Children’s Information

The Sites are not intended for children under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect or store any Personal Information about children under 18 years of age. If you are under 18 years of age, do not provide Personal Information to us and do not use the Sites.

International Transfers

We are based in the United States. We do not actively solicit information about or from individuals outside the United States. Our website is accessible to all and we do not prohibit individuals outside the United States from providing their contact information to us or donating to Parity.

Our Sites may contain links to other websites or social media buttons. This Privacy Policy is not applicable to those other websites or platforms, which are governed by their own privacy policies.
