Why We Created the Best Companies for Women to Advance list
We created the Parity.org Best Companies for Women to Advance™ list with the goal of recognizing organizations that have benefits, policies, and programs that are particularly beneficial for women to advance in the workplace.
Women make up half the workforce, but only 29% of senior leaders. Even in industries where women are the majority of the overall workforce, such as healthcare and fashion, women are paid less and face more obstacles to make it into leadership, particularly women of color. We want to recognize the companies addressing the issues unique to women and striving to create environments where women can succeed as easily as men, and encourage more organizations to follow these role models.
Companies were rated in areas of recruitment, benefits, executive preparation, measurement, and representation. The Parity.org Best Companies for Women to Advance list is an initiative of Parity.org, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization focused on bringing gender equality to the highest levels of business.
